Playtime at the Park

Today, it hit a summer-reminding 84 degrees!  How could we stay inside?  Picnic at a park here we come!

 

Today was special because it was Cole's first time really wearing shoes!  I put shoes on him twice before but the first time, he walked like a cat trying to get tape off it's feet and the second time he just stood stock still and refused to walk.  Today I was mean and made him keep them.  After the first few minutes, he was walking around and being normal, shoes and all.  Such a big boy! 

FHE: Baseball!

Glorious weather on Monday!  For Family Home Evening, we took ourselves out to enjoy it!

 

Lizzie got a t-ball set way back for her birthday and we decided to put it to use.

Aaron had fun showing the girls how to play.

 

It took some practice. 

 

I love everything about this picture.  The T going one way while the ball goes the other; Lizzie's eyes are shut while she swings; Evie's patience.  Love it! 

 

But both Lizzie and Carson finally hit the ball without toppling the T stand. 

 

Evie even graduated to hitting the ball when he threw it! 

 

Cole was a great cheer-master 

 

The girls found out that baseball means a ton of waiting.  But they were good for it... 

 

Because Daddy made it tackle and tickle baseball!  They had so much fun! 

Everyday Playtime

Lest I ever get high and mighty and think that because I only blog adorable moments in clean rooms, that that is what my life was like, here's some reality.

 

Messy playroom.  Kids being weird.  I love them!

 

And Cole, napping on the couch.  Just because he's cute. 

Another Trip to Monkey Joe's

We are big fans of places with sock-only rules!  Monkey Joe's has been a great release several times this winter and long, cold spring!

 

We even kept Evie home from school this once to have a family day! 

 

We only left when Lizzie hit her finish line.  It was a great couple of hours, though! 

 

We finished off the day by going out to eat at Chili's as a family.  The kids did well playing some on the tablet while we waited for our meals.  We laughed at Cole sucking on a lemon slice.  We shared chips and salsa!  After such a full morning, the kids all - ALL took naps as soon as we got home.  It was a pretty great family day!
