Cole - and the Pillow and Blanket Fort

Cole's 9 months already?  He loves to smile, even though he's obviously working hard to bring in all his teeth at once.  He's had his bottom two teeth for a while now, but lately he's master drool face and sort of grumpy.  I can feel at least four near the surface, so it's no wonder he gets the grumps - I'm so glad he has a generally cheerful disposition as this time could be so much worse!

Cole's a joy to us.  He wakes with smiles and chatter and is just beginning to wave.  Some babies have staring contests, but they have nothing on this kid with his smile contests - he just smiles and wrinkles up his nose and crinkles his eyes until you can't help but smile back, and then his grin just grows.  It's really something.

Cole's very active, following in his older sisters' and brother's footsteps.  He crawls like the wind, pulls himself up on anything taller than a foot, cruises, and is just beginning to stand without support.  He loves to eat.  He would rather we just give him bottles and lots of them, but accepts finger food as well.  When being sat down with a spoon, he will eat as fast as I can scoop it in.  I'm just loving his little personality and this particular stage in his life.  My sweet Baby Cole.

After the kids fulfilled some promised chores, I fulfilled my promise to make 'a really good fort' for them.  They loved how spacious it was!  I was thinking that my photo albums didn't have nearly the holding power of the stacks of encyclopedias my siblings and I used as youth.  A friend pointed out that our children will probably not know what an 'encyclopedia' is - am I so old?

It made their night to be able to watch a movie from the tent and the girls were happy to sleep there.  (Carson would have wandered the house instead of sleeping, so up to bed he went after the movie was done.)
