For the second year running, Aaron has won the chance to go to Mexico through the bank at which he works! This means he stayed in the top 5 percent of the entire site (here in Wisconsin) EVEN THOUGH he was transfered part way through the year to another department. This new area, the 'mentor team' not only has the same sales goals as anyone else, but they TRAIN the new people coming into the bank and help those new people problem-solve. He kept his awesome goal, exceeded it, and still helped several classes of new bankers! Way to go, Aaron!!
Last night was the award ceremony for the Pinnacle Award winners. {Insert ashamed face here; I forgot to bring my camera.} Aaron and I typically do not do things on Sunday evenings, but this happens once a year (if he wins) and it's the only day his site is closed and can hold such an event. This means that at least he never, ever has to work Sundays. Just one evening event.
The theme was Oscars and of the people who won the trip this year, I recognized 5 that went to Cabo with us last year. It was nice to see friendly faces! There were also two others from Aaron's mentor team that get to go - they must be hard workers to have three from the same team win!
I'm a little disappointed that I won't be going down to Mexico with Aaron this year. We somehow mis-timed this pregnancy (but it was planned and Cole is very loved already; don't get us wrong) and at this rate, Aaron will barely be able to cut the baby's cord before soaring off to the beaches. He is lucky in that he gets to take a friend with him. I'm lucky that I get not only a new baby Cole to snuggle, but my sister will be in town with me before and during Aaron's trip.
For those of you with questions about why Aaron's going at all so soon after my delivery, I don't really feel like I NEED to explain it to you, but it's not a touchy subject, so I'll tell you anyway. Aaron was informed, after learning that the delivery was so close to the Pinnacle trip, that if he turned down this trip, he would make himself ineligible to win next year's Pinnacle Award. That seems really unfair to us and we're a little frustrated with the bank on this matter, BUT we have figured out a way to work around it and not be too stressed, so we're not complaining too much.
So, once again, CONGRATULATIONS to my awesome husband!!
