Thursday morning found us at the local parade! The kids did pretty well, considering we walked the 1/2 mile to the corner and were met by a swarm of gnats. The missionaries joined us after a bit and kept up a funny commentary. We were surrounded by children far more aggressive in their search for candy than my children. Evie and Lizzie managed to secure enough to keep the three of them happy, though.
I loved that our community respectfully stood. My kids were good-natured about standing, and did even better after I told them why.
I loved seeing and hearing the bagpipe bands!
The girls adored the stilts people.
And they loved the 'their-size' pony with sparkles and painted hooves!
Cole was about done by the time the parade finished. Tired kids made the 1/2 mile walk back a little long, but we really did enjoy ourselves overall!
