After school, the girls were overjoyed to see that one of our trees just dropped all it's leaves AND it was warm enough to play outside. They hurried through their homework and got a good hour of rolling in the leaves. The boys joined them for a while, all of them working together on their leaf pile.
I was busy canning ham and bean soup, so when they asked for a rake, I couldn't help them. Instead they got anything else they thought might work - a broom, a push-broom, a snow shovel, and a giant dustpan.
With their odd tools, they reminded me of my favorite Pixar short film, 'La Luna'
Kids playing in leaves - such happiness!
The three bigger kids all threw handfuls of leaves at the same time, making Cole disappear in the fall.
I have been watching this tree change gracefully for a couple weeks now, loving it more each time I see it. It's not one of ours, but a neighbor down the street from us.
