Spring Break 2018, Day 2: Easter

Easter morning on vacation was a little hard, a little exciting.  We got the kids cute and practical hats and sunglasses, then tossed in a few little treats.  These hats were both a lifesaver and a hit among other parents who saw us.  Our tradition is to hide the Easter baskets, which was actually pretty fun, seeing as we were in a new place and had so many hidey-holes to choose from.  In the end, it took Carson the longest, though we thought it was the easiest.  And the one place that Aaron talked me out of using, all the kids checked.  So fun!

After hanging out at our hotel room to watch the first Sunday session of General Conference, we went to Aaron's cousin's house to watch the second session and get ready for family dinner.  During the session, all the kids colored, did puzzles, and played with beads.  It was a little chaotic, but nice to see how our kids played together.

After Conference was over, Beth and I helped all the kids make a big batch of resurrection rolls.  It was fun to watch them get messy while oiling and seasoning and wrapping marshmallows.

After they baked, it was neat (and tasty) to see the empty rolls/tombs.

I loved this single, lonely flower in the backyard.

A little bit of water play went a long way to ease the heat and the boredom before other family members arrived.

This fussball table got a lot of use.  Lizzie loved showing up all the boys and winning round after round.

Potluck meal.  There was fruit, fruit salad, green salad, rolls and resurrection rolls...

...Green bean casserole, ham, funeral potatoes, stuffing, and probably other things I'm forgetting.

Loved seeing all the family take time to visit together!

A fun game, guessing how many jellybeans were in each Easter egg by audio alone.  We had some good guessers, and some talented ears!

Blake and Kyson were both so good at it, they did it with their eyes closed, so as not to remember the colors of the eggs from previous matches.

We took some time to do a little photoshoot of the families there.  Grandma and grandpa were great sports and cheerfully wore bunny ears.

Bob and Sarah B with more than half of their great-grandchildren.

Bob and Sarah with Megan's family.

Bob and Sarah with Nick's family.

Bob and Sarah with Josh, Megan, Aaron and Nick.  They thought they were all so silly with the ears, they really wanted one without.

What a good-looking group!

After dinner and games and pictures, there was a quick dessert of strawberry shortcake.

Peyton had been out shopping the night before and was so excited to give each of her cousins a pretty bead friendship bracelet.

These four love each other so much!

We left the family gathering to pick up Grandma (Jana) B at the airport.  I love the sunsets I kept seeing across the Arizona desert!!
