My current baby turned two last week! I almost can't believe it! We had a party all combined with Carson's second cousin, Esther, and Grampa B. It was a lot of fun, not to mention rowdy, to have all those cousins together. GrammaB made pizza crusts and set out toppings and everyone had a custom pizza, perfect size. Then they all played for a bit before opening gifts, in age order. I didn't take pictures of Grampa or Esther opening gifts, but Aaron got a few (dozen?) of Carson and me opening presents. Each of the girls picked a dollar store gift for their brother and from them he got a couple of die-cast cars and a fun stretchy alligator. He got an alphabet puzzle from Aaron and me.
Gramma and Grampa gave him a couple of CAT worker vehicles and a racetrack with some cars.
From Granma and Granpa R, Carson got an adorable Cars quilt, pieced and quilted by Granma.
How do you take a picture of a two and three year old NOT attacking the cake in front of them? Here's one way. Esther's mom, Jenny, made the cakes, little candles with blue or pink stripes on them, two for Carson and three for Esther.
Carson approved. He loves playing with his new things!
Some Carson-isms:
He loves playing with his cars/trucks and loves making noises for them.
While eating, he plays with his food, often pretending an item is a boat.
Most of the time, he's still pretty reasonable about going upstairs to bed.
He cheers for anyone and anything. For instance, I was trying to figure out something he wanted, and when I guessed right, he cheered, "Yay!" and clapped his hands.
He is my least picky eater. He will try anything, even if he maybe shouldn't.
He's in a coloring phase. Especially if it has to do with walls, couches, windows or chairs. And he's not picky about the utensil; crayon, pencil, marker, pen, permenant marker. He'll use it all.
He babbles. He'll tell an entire story to me without my understanding a single word.
He loves to give hugs and kisses.
He loves his puppy (stuffed animal). He uses it as a chew-toy and poor puppy's strings are now threads and his nose is going fast.
He climbs. Boy, does this boy ever climb! He got three shelves up on my {anchored} 8 foot bookcase!
He sleeps well. I have been blessed with this angel who will actually fall asleep and stay asleep during Sacrament meeting.
He sings 'Jingle Bells', the Little Einsteins' theme, and a couple others. My favorite is Jingle Bells.
Happy Birthday, my sweet Carson-man!
