Aaron and I got to participate in Milwaukee's 2012 Color Run! It was a lot of fun! Neither of us intended to 'run' the run, but we did jog through each color station. The premise of the race, which isn't timed, is that you begin the race in a white shirt and after each kilometer (of a 5K) you get 'splashed' with a cornstarch color powder in different colors, finishing with a super-colorful shirt. We arrived what we thought was early, 6pm, since the race was to start at 7. Unfortunately, most people had been there since 3, and we were in lines for registration and shirts and starting line for what seemed hours. We left the start line at 7:45 and finished at 8:50, just over an hour. And we were very colorful! Here are shots from just after each station.
At the beginning - pristine!
This is what each station looked like. A big cloud of dust, faintly hued whatever the color was.
First K, yellow!
Second K, blue!
Third K, orange!
Fourth K, pink! (Though you can hardly tell at this point)
At the end, there was a festival of dust-throwing fun at the stage, but we didn't go into that. For one, we were later than we thought (poor babysitter!) and for two, I wasn't sure my asthma could handle it. But we took a picture from afar and enjoyed it anyway.
SO, so much fun!

What fun! I've always wanted to go on a color run. Something about the focus being on color and those clear kilometer markings makes it seem a lot neater than just running in general.
