Fishing

Aaron, Dennis, David and Matt took several of the kids in our families down to Grandpa's pond to go fishing.  That dock was several months' work by Dennis and Aaron, but so worth it!  Jana went down with them and used my camera to take pictures.  I'm so glad she did - it means I didn't have to remember to get the pictures off hers for this.

Evie spent the majority of her time with Uncle David.  That kid sure can monopolize her aunts' and uncles' time!

She got a kick out of playing with this poor fish.  And the spot on her head was a mishap from earlier in the day.  As she was getting out of the pool from swimming time, she upset a wasp.  She spent a half hour cuddled in my lap with clay smeared on her forehead.  It was so sweet to snuggle her, since she almost never does like that anymore.

Lizzie was bummed that she couldn't go fishing, but hopes to go on another trip sometime soon.  Instead, she spent her time on the playground and around the campfire.

Carson also missed out on fishing, but was thoroughly entertained everywhere else.

Some of the highlights of the evening were:
having five pizzas cooked and eating almost all of them!
singing 'happy birthday' to Uncle David
swimming, swimming and more swimming
lighting a campfire and roasting marshmallows
Grandma getting out glowsticks and running around in the dark with all the kids, all glowing
