A Tale of a Tooth
By Evelyn B.
My tooth was loose for a long time.
I played with my tooth when I laid down on the floor.
I twisted it. And then it came out.
I held it up to see it, but I dropped it. I lost it.
We looked for it so we can give it to the Tooth Fairy.
We still can't find it.
Ammendment by Mom:
We did find the tooth. She had lost it on the floor in my room, which is bone-toned with some flecks of red, blue and black. We found it eventually, after a couple hours, then a couple hours of ignoring the problem, then another 5 minutes of searching.
We decided to make a little pillow to hang, so the Tooth Fairy would have an easier time doing her job. Since Evie slept in the living room last night, we hung the pillow on the closet door. The tooth is a pocket to hold the tooth and, later, the prize. The whole thing is a little bigger than I initially planned, but is cute nonetheless, and only took me half an hour to put together.
After some discussion, Aaron and I agreed that a dollar is a reasonable amount for a tooth fairy to leave,at least for a first tooth. Having seen an idea online, I put a coat of pink-tinted sparkly nail polish on the face of the dollar, to help with the illusion of fantasy.
Evie ran and woke us up this morning, SO thrilled with her sparkly tooth money! She was also anxious to spend it, so this evening, we allowed her to spend it on a package of skittles. It's been such a fun experience for her to have a loose, then lost tooth!

Yep, our tooth fairy is definitely lazy. Plastic snack size bag, and non-glittery money! How fun for Evie, and I'm glad the tooth popped up after all.
