This is what the kids could see, before they could come down and attack the wrapping.
Four little kids, waiting to bet allowed downstairs. (Granted, this wasn't quite 'true'. It's a photo I've wanted all year and one I hope to improve on. But the truth is that Cole doesn't even sleep upstairs - and Aaron's holding him anyway. But I'm glad I took the photo anway!)
Dumping out stockings.
Santa gifts were wrapped this year. Evie got a floor puzzle.
Lizzie another addition to her growing My Little Pony family.
Carson got some train tracks, so many now he can't have them all connected on the table at once! He can make some pretty slick runs, though.
Cole got shape sorters!
Lizzie was actually far more excited than she looks here. This is the ONLY thing she asked for repeatedly through the season - Cinderella 3. We got a bonus with Cinderella 2 as well. The look on her face was, 'See, I told you' because she's been saying that this particular gift was this movie since it went under the tree. Smart kid, no? Next year the wrapper must be sneakier.
Some aftermath.
Lizzie, wearing the awesome cloak my sister knitted, surrounded by several of her gifts.
Evie, with her own cape, and some of her loot visible.
Even though we decided early on that we weren't going overboard this year, I feel like the kids still got things they wanted, things they needed, and didn't get spoiled. I hope we can keep this line of thought going - where the kids don't need so much 'stuff'. A very merry Christmas to all our friends and family!!
