Honestly, I was WAY lax about picture taking my first day! I have excuses and descriptions, though!
Thursday began way early - 4:30 early, to be exact. Our flight left Milwaukee at 7am, so it was an early start. My mom came into town and stayed with the kids, and Aaron's mom helped immensely by getting us to and from the airport at either end of our trip.
After a lot time spent in airports and on airplanes, we arrived in Puerto Vallart around 2pm, to a balmy mid-70 tempurature. It was so perfect! Our room wasn't quite ready at the hotel - we didn't get into it until around 4. We filled that waiting time with exploring the resort grounds, watching parasailers on the beach, trying out three different restaurants located at the resort, and visiting with various other pinnacle winners and their guests.
We had several friends that we spent time with - Sayyid and his friend Alex, Angelo and his girlfriend, and Mary and her husband. This was and Mary's first win and trip, and the first time we spent time with Angelo, who's won several times, but Sayyid and Alex were on the Cabo trip with us two years ago. There were lots more there, but we spent most of our free time with one or more of these people.
After getting our room, we got our stuff out and lounged, tried out the double hottub, took a little nap, and enjoyed the view. That evening, the bank had a presentation and dinner on the beach. We stayed at the Hardrock Hotel and all the winning bankers were referred to as 'rockstars'. So the presentation involved all the managers that attended dressing up as different rockstars. Here we have Cher and Elvis.
Others that showed up were Katy Perry, John Denver, Madonna (this one was Aaron's boss), the blues brothers, and a Michael Jackson performer. Michael Jackson ended up being an hour long rock show; he sang several songs with some backup dancers and singers. We were told that the reason they showcased Michael Jackson was because one pinnacle winner, Vern (a woman Aaron works with) particularly likes his music. She has won pinnacle 10 years in a row, all 10 years that she's been with the bank. That's pretty impressive, and I'm glad they gave her such a shoutout!
After the presentation was over, we hung out with Angelo and his girlfriend, Sayyid, Alex, and a couple others. While I enjoyed getting to know them, they were all drunk as skunks. We were practically the only people in our group that didn't drink. (Ha, ha, not that the hotel didn't try - even though I know we asked for our drinks 'virgin' or 'non-alcoholic', Aaron and I both received drinks that definitely had alcohol and had to replace them. Our friends said 'that's just good bar-keeping', but I was pretty irked.) Our friends were an amusing group to be around.
